NEW RULE: Dependants between the ages of 21 and 30

From this year April all child beneficiaries between the ages of 21 and 30 can remain on POLMED as dependants if they meet the requirements that are explained in this article.

Private hospital group unifies direction

South African private hospital group Mediclinic launched a crisp new brand identity during an exclusive media forum at The Pavilion Conference Centre in Cape Town on 20 June.

The revised Mediclinic brand depicts a lot more than a mere change of the corporation's logo and visual identity. Instead it demonstrates the group's commitment to align its past excellence to a brand that will continue to bring outstanding medical care to its patients - supported by deliberate scientific expertise - under a unified international umbrella.

POLMED needs your bank details

With effect from 1 April 2011 POLMED discontinued refund cheque payments to members that exceed R2000. POLMED providers also do not receive any refund cheque payments, irrespective of the amount. The last cheque payments were made on 31 March 2011. Self-service IVR system

POLMED established a self-service Interactive Voice Response (IVR) system in 2011, which is a one-stop service with the aim of improving our members experience with POLMED. This 24 hour service was launched on 3 March 2011. POLMED members can now enjoy the benefit of checking your available benefits and requesting statements without any human intervention.
